An improvised explosive device went off near the house of Nepali Congress candidate Ramesh Lekhak in Bhimdatta Municipality on Monday night. No human casualties or property loss was reported, however, the police said.
A search has been launched for the bomb planter(s), said Deputy Superintendent of Police Gyan Bahadur Setti.
Meanwhile, issuing a statement, NC's former Kanchanpur district working committee secretary Bhojraj Bohara condemned the attack and demanded action against the bomb planter(s).
Likewise, an IED was thrown at a vehicle carrying a left alliance candidate Khagraj Bhatta in the district on Monday night. No human casualties were reported, however, said the police, adding that the vehicle suffered a minor damage. Bhatta was returning after addressing an election campaign when the attack occurred.
