Nepali Congress (NC) candidate for federal parliament from Kathmandu-4 and former health minister Gagan Thapa has been injured in a bomb attack Monday.
Thapa and 10 others have been injured in the bomb explosion at Mato Colony of Chapali in Budhanilkantha where they had gone for door-to-door campaign.
Thapa and 10 others injured in the incident have all been taken to the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital (TUTH) for treatment. Thapa has suffered injuries on his head and back due to splinters of the bomb.
"The bomb went off as I moved forward along with a friend to move the procession forward as the door-to-door campaign started behind the scheduled time. A few seconds saved me but my friends suffered big injuries," Thapa said coming out of the hospital after treatment.
He claimed that the attack targeted him.
