Minister for Information and Communications Mohan Bahadur Basnet has urged all to cooperate to conduct the second phase of elections peacefully as the first phase of elections was completed peacefully.
Basnet, who has contested the polls from Sindhupalchowk-1 to the House of Representatives, said it while talking to media persons at his office Wednesday.
He added that the country was in difficult mode these days and will reach to comfort way after elections. He further argued that the upcoming elections are to serve as a medium to choose either stabilize democracy or destabilize it in the country. Basnet reiterated that the people will reject any totalitarian system in the country.
He further opined for forging consensus among the parties as they had shown it while promulgating the constitution.
On another note, Basnet said that the government-owned media should disseminate the news being based on neutrality and impartiality.
He added that such media should forward government's popular activities to the people after creating harmonious relations among the parties and people.
