A bomb has been exploded at Lagankhel of Lalitpur targeting an election rally of the left alliance scheduled to be addressed by CPN-UML Chairman KP Oli Tuesday afternoon.
No casualties have been reported in the incident but the commoners have been terrorized by the incident at the heart of Lalitpur Metropolitan City. Window panes of the local Namuna Machhindra Residential Secondary School have been broken due to the explosion. A pit has been formed in the ground due to the power of explosion.
A Nepal Army (NA) team that reached the spot immediately after the incident has started investigations. Nobody has taken responsibility for the explosion.
The election program organized near Lagankhel Bus Park was delayed by a while due to the explosion. Addressing the program, UML Chairman Oli said the election will not be disrupted due to such 'petty incidents'. He also urged the Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) led by Netra Bikram Chand, that has been disrupting election programs across the country, to not take the path to destruction by opposing the election.
