EC blocks transfer of six including four CDOs

The Election Commission (EC) on Thursday has blocked transfer on deputation of six officials including four chief district officers (CDO). The EC has said it cannot recognize transfers on deputation made violating the election code of conduct and wuthout its consent. The Home Ministry on Tuesday had transferred CDOs Fanindra Dahal of Bhojpur, Sunil Khanal of Solukhumbu, Cholendra Neupane of Rasuwa and Birendra Kumar Yadav of Nuwakot. All the four districts will go for voting in the first phase on Novemebr 26. “The Election Code of Conduct 2015 clearly states that staffers cannot be transferred or sent on deputation without consent of EC,” the EC has written to the Ministry. “Submit the original files of the deputation transfers to the EC within 24 hours of receiving this letter,” the EC has directed.
