CPN-UML Chairman KP Oli has called Prime Minister and Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba teaching him democracy a joke.
Addressing an election rally organized by the left alliance, that also includes CPN (Maoist Center), in Tulsipur, Dang, he said Deuba trying to teach a person 'who has fought for democracy all his life' about democracy is laughable. "Where was Deuba when I was on the streets to struggle for democracy in 1990?" he asked. "He was perhaps studying in Britain. It is baffling that he now is trying to teach me definition of democracy, and awarding a certificate," he added.
He stated that he does not need such British certificate and claimed that the elections on November 26 and December 7 instead will hand Deuba the certificate of loss.
He accused that those saying the democracy is under threat from the left alliance are trying to create illusion fearing that their kleptocracy will be under threat. "We want to end kleptocracy not democracy," he assured and claimed that the left alliance will win a two-third majority in the federal parliament and form the next government.
