Three CDOs transferred on eve of election

The Home Ministry has transferred chief district officers (CDO) of three districts on the eve of elections. The ministry on Tuesday has confirmed transfer of Solukhumbu CDO Bhupendra Thapa, Nuwakot CDO Jagadish Baral, and Rasuwa CDO Hira Devi Paudel. Sunil Khanal, Birendra Yadav and Cholendra Neupane will replace the trio respectively. All the three districts will go for voting in the first phase on Novemebr 26. Senior officials at the ministry claimed that the transfers have been made with permission of the Election Commission. The Nepal Police Headquarters, meanwhile, has also summoned SP Birendra Basyal back from Nuwakot. SP Basanta Kunwar has been sent on deputation to replace Basyal.
