A bomb exploded at the house of Minister of State for Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation Champa Devi Khadka at Baglung municipality-2 last night.
No human casualties have been reported from the blast that occurred at 11 pm on Monday. The Minister of State is also the candidate for the House of Representatives election from Baglung district constituency-1. She was in the house when the bomb suddenly exploded with a big bang.
Police have started the investigation in this connection, said Chief of the District Police Office, Superintendent Chandra Kuber Khapung.
Although who planted the bomb is not known, the Netra Bikram Chand-led Communist Party of Nepal is suspected to be behind this as it is found involved in anti-election activities. The party has announced election boycott.
The local residents were terrorized following the sudden loud explosion at night. The police have cordoned off the blast site. A section of the compound wall at the house has been slightly damaged due to the explosion.
