The National Reconstruction Authority (NRA) is to send engineer to every ward of the districts affected by the 2015 Gorkha Earthquake by mid-December.
The 92nd meeting of the NRA, the government body formed to carry out post-quake recovery and reconstruction works, held Thursday agreed to depute recently hired technical human resources to all the 31 districts affected by the disaster by December 15 after necessary orientation.
Likewise, the NRA is to conduct training on building of safe houses at local level for additional 54,000 masons, according to NRA Spokesperson Yamlal Bhusal. The Central Project Implementation Unit under the Ministry of Federal Affairs and Local Development has been instructed to submit a clear draft on the format of training for additional 54,000 masons by November 19.
Likewise, the meeting decided to shift focal persons stationed at the District Coordination Committee to assist the rebuild works at the 17 least affected districts to the District Project Implementation Unit and they will do their duties as focal persons from there.
As per the decision of the meeting, those retrofitting beneficiaries residing in government, public and forest areas shall be transferred to a list of full beneficiaries and the process of housing grants agreement with them shall be initiated. More, the meeting has approved the names of those included in the list of beneficiaries during the grievances management process.
