Federal Socialist Forum Nepal (FSFN) Chairman Upendra Yadav has urged Nepali Congress (NC) to ally for the upcoming elections stating Madhes-based parties will be ready for alliance until the eleventh hour.
Speaking during an interaction program in Siraha on Friday, he claimed that the democratic alliance could not be formed due to lack of generosity on part of NC and added that NC stands to benefit from an alliance with FSFN and Rastriya Janata Party Nepal (RJP). Claiming that NC has become very weak in the plains, he said candidacies can still be withdrawn to forge an alliance if NC were to act sensible.
NC had applied for withdrawal of the party's candidacies in Mahottari-3 to support Mahantha Thakur and Saptari-2 for Yadav. But nomination of NC candidate in Yadav's constituency Sakal Dev Sutihar could not be withdrawn due to expiry of deadline for withdrawal of nominations.
Yadav claimed that the FSFN-RJP alliance can get majority in Province 2 even without support of NC and added that nobody can stop the alliance from forming the provincial government.
He argued that neither the left alliance of CPN-UML and CPN (Maoist Center) nor the democratic alliance can muster majority at the center and claimed that the FSFN-RJP alliance will hold the keys even for the federal government.
