Hunger strike for restoration of Prithvi Narayan Shah's statue

Various organisations have started a relay hunger strike at the main entrance to Pokhara Lekhnath Metropolitan City Office, demanding the restoration of the statue of unifier of modern Nepal Prithvi Narayan Shah. The strike that started on November 1 will continue until December 6, said the struggle committee which initiated the protest, while warning of a stern protest if their demands are not met. Meanwhile, speaking at a program organized to launch the protest, former lawmaker and industrialist Surya Bahadur KC viewed that the move of the metropolitan city to allow installing the statue of the first martyr Lakan Thapa in the place of the statue of Shah was wrong.
