The Nepali Communist Party (NCP) has set the date for its general convention.
Although the then CPN (Maoist Center) had transformed into an organizing committee to hold a special general convention, the event was postponed after unification with the then CPN (Unified Socialist).
NCP spokesperson Prakash Jwala said that the calendar has been set to hold the general convention from November 27 to December 1.
According to Jwala, the party has directed that the organizational adjustment of federal, provincial, municipal, ward, and sister organizations be completed by mid-June.
He further stated that decisions have been made to run labor camps and complete membership renewals and expansion through July and August.
Ward-level conventions are to be completed by August 31, and municipal-level conventions from September 1 to 16.
District conventions will be completed by October 17, and provincial conventions by November 1.
Jwala also mentioned that necessary arrangements regarding documents and delegates will be decided through a future working committee meeting, after which the procedures will be sent to lower-level committees.
