Man arrested over UML flag burning incident in Dang

Police have arrested one person on charges of burning the flag of the CPN-UML in Dang.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Resham Bohara of the District Police Office, Dang, 55-year-old Buddhi Bahadur Basnet of Kalakhola, Tulsipur Sub-metropolitan City-7, was arrested on Friday.

A video showed an unidentified individual burning a UML flag in a crowd gathered at Birendra Chowk in Dang to welcome RSP President Rabi Lamichhane around 9:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Basnet was arrested after the video surfaced.

Police have launched further investigation into the incident and are searching for other individuals involved in the act.
