The central committee of the Nepali Congress has unanimously endorsed the party’s commitment document (manifesto).
A virtual meeting of the party’s central committee approved the commitment paper that the party is set to make public for the House of Representatives member election scheduled for March 5.
The Nepali Congress is unveiling its commitment paper at a public assembly set to take place in Janakpur on Wednesday.
NC President Gagan Kumar Thapa, Vice-president Bishwa Prakash Sharma, along with other key central leaders, are scheduled to address the gathering.
The party has stated that the commitment assembly, to be held in the sacred land of Madhes and the historic and cultural city of Janakpurdham, is not merely a political event but a historic occasion to convey a message of Madhes’ dignity, inclusive democracy, and national unity.
According to Krishna Prasad Yadav, president of the NC’s Madhes province chapter, the party has embraced issues of identity, rights, proportional inclusion, and empowerment of the people of Madhes as its core agenda after the Madhes movement.
