The Nepali Congress (NC) office bearers elected by the Special General Convention have headed to the Election Commission.
After holding their first Central Committee meeting in Kupondole, Lalitpur, the officials left for the Election Commission to update the party's records with the newly elected Central Committee.
The Central Committee meeting also officially decided to replace Sher Bahadur Deuba's signature with that of President Gagan Thapa on all official party decisions and documents. This decision will be formally communicated to the Election Commission.
The inaugural Central Committee meeting appointed Dev Raj Chalise as the party's spokesperson. Speaking about the meeting's results, Spokesperson Chalise stated that preparations are underway to update all necessary party details.
"Following the party's second Special General Convention, we have decided to inform the Election Commission regarding all recent decisions and events to update the previous records," Chalise said. "Decisions have been made to fulfill legal obligations at the Election Commission including changing the authorized signatures for candidates, amending the proportional representation (PR) list, and updating signatory authorities."
He further informed that another meeting of the Central Committee is scheduled for Friday.
