UML recommends Chakre Milan as candidate from Gorkha-2

The CPN-UML Gorkha district committee has recommended Milan Gurung, also known as Chakre Milan, as its candidate for the House of Representatives election from Gorkha Constituency No. 2.

The district committee has recommended Chakre Milan, who has a past background as a gang leader. He is frequently embroiled in controversies and repeatedly arrested.

Most recently, he was arrested for creating a public disturbance during his birthday celebration. Police detained him on the charge of blocking the road under the pretext of cutting a cake in a public place.

The UML has said that he has been active in the party since 1993.

During the previous election, there were rumors that he would be a candidate, but ultimately he did not run. Instead, the UML gave the ticket to Abdus Miya.

In the 2022 election, Pushpa Kamal Dahal, then chairman of the CPN (Maoist Center), was elected from Gorkha Constituency No. 2.
