Prime Minister Sushila Karki has said that the government will not hesitate to take stern measures to any extent against corruption.
Speaking on the occasion of the 22nd International Anti-Corruption Day, PM Karki remarked that this government is not merely for holding elections but one formed on the foundation of the Gen Z movement that demanded good governance.
"Along with regular duties, the government is working swiftly for good governance. It may take time to achieve expected results in accordance with the demands and expectations of Gen Z, but the government will not retreat from taking stern measures to any extent against corruption. For this purpose, the established mechanisms of the state have already become active," she said.
PM Karki also remarked that they would not be intimidated even if certain elements, panicked by the steps taken against corruption, threatened them directly or indirectly.
The prime minister also urged officials of the relevant agencies and civil servants to move forward fearlessly, exercising their professional independence, without being deterred in the slightest.
