The unification between the CPN (Maoist Center) and the CPN (Unified Socialist) is set to take place on November 6.
The secretariat meeting held on Sunday decided that a joint central committee meeting of both parties will be held on November 6, said Maoist Center spokesperson and Vice-chairman Agni Prasad Sapkota.
"A joint central committee meeting of the Unified Socialist and other parties joining the unification is scheduled for November 6," he said.
Preparations are underway to announce the unification after that.
Parties affiliated with the Socialist Front, including the Maoist Center, Unified Socialist, a group led by Chiran KC that separated from Netra Bikram Chand, the Nepal Socialist Party led by Mahindra Raya Yadav, and the CPN (Socialist) led by Raju Karki, are in the unification process.
They have already agreed on policy and leadership.
Pushpa Kamal Dahal will lead the unified party as coordinator, while Madhav Nepal will serve as co-coordinator.
The unified party will not have a multi-post structure. It will have Marxism and Leninism as its guiding principles, socialism with Nepali characteristics as the immediate policy and scientific socialism as the long-term goal.
