Police have detained Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) lawmaker Deepak Singh.
Superintendent of Police Apil Raj Bohara at the District Police Range, Kathmandu, said that Singh was detained at Bhadrakali on Sunday.
“He was detained near our premises. He made provocative statements,” Bohara said.
RPP Nepal Chairman Kamal Thapa is also being held at the District Police Range at Bhadrakali.
Thapa and five others were detained during a protest by royalists at Narayanchaur in Naxal of Kathmandu earlier on Sunday.
It is reported that Singh had gone to the District Police Range at Bhadrakali to meet Thapa.
The “Joint People’s Movement Committee,” led by Nawaraj Subedi, has been staging protests in Kathmandu since May 29, advocating for the restoration of monarchy, reinstatement of Nepal as a Hindu nation, abolishment of republic, and other agendas.
