Ranjita Shrestha, chairperson of the Nagarik Unmukti Party, has said that the party unification process has been delayed because Janamat Party Chairman CK Raut is currently outside the district.
Talking to the Rastriya Samachar Samiti, Shrestha said that the unification process would be concluded soon.
“Recently, an event was organized to announce the unification of the Janamat Party and our Nagarik Unmukti Party. The unification was disrupted that day. The Janamat Party chairperson is currently outside the district for party work. It has been decided to move the unification process forward as soon as he returns to Kathmandu,” she said.
Preparations were made to unify the Janamat Party, led by CK Raut, and the Nagarik Unmukti Party, led by Shrestha, on April 30. However, Nagarik Unmukti Party patron Resham Chaudhary was arrested before the event organized to formally announce the unification could begin at the Nepal Academy building in Kamaladi, Kathmandu.
Although Chaudhary was released the same day, the unification process has not progressed further.
