The Kathmandu District Court has extended the remand of 24 individuals arrested for offenses against the state by three days.
On Wednesday, the court granted permission to keep the 24 people, arrested during a violent demonstration in Tinkune of Kathmandu on March 28, in custody for three more days, according to Seniro Superintendent of Police Apil Raj Bohara at the District Police Range, Kathmandu.
Police are investigating the 24 individuals, including Durga Prasai and Rastriya Prajatantra Party Senior Vice-chairman Rabindra Mishra, for offenses against the state.
Along with Prasai and Mishra, the court has also extended the remand of Pushkar Khatiwada, Gopal Malla, Gopi Krishna Khadka, Santosh Chaudhary, Ram Kumar Dhimal, Pashupati Khadka, Harihar Chaulagain, Bishnu Chaulagain, Manindra Raj Bhandari, Kumar Basnet, Anil Kumar Thapa, Taranath Bohara, Dan Bahadur Neupane, Umesh Tamang, Bhanubhakta Paudel, Bishnu Jang Basnet, Devi Prasad Sangraula, Prem Thapa Magar, Deepak Khadka, and others.
