Minister for Education, Science, and Technology Bidya Bhattarai has resigned from her post.
She submitted her resignation to Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli around 5 PM on Monday.
Her secretariat informed Setopati that she resigned due to health reasons.
Minister Bhattarai’s resignation comes amid the ongoing teachers’ protests.
Teachers from across the country have been holding protests in Kathmandu under the leadership of the Nepal Teachers' Federation since April 2.
They have demanded that the government implement past agreements reached with them and enact the School Education Act immediately.
