Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena, who is in Nepal for the 4th BIMSTEC summit, is scheduled to visit Lumbini on Saturday. He will also be visiting the Aanandakuti Bihar in Swayambhu on Sunday.
The Bihar management is busy making preparations for President Sirisena's visit. It may be noted that the Bihar was renovated with the financial support of Sri Lanka.
The President will also take a view of the Buddha's relics at the Bihar. The Sri-Lankan President is visiting various Buddhist religious sites in Nepal to the liking of Buddhist followers in and outside the country. The visit by a Head of the State of a Buddhist majority country is also expected to help promote religious tourism in the country.
