Prime Minister (PM) KP Sharma Oli and his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi have met at Saoltee Crowne Plaza on the sidelines of Fourth BIMSTEC Summit on Friday.
This is the third meeting between Oli and Modi this year. Oli had visited India in April immediately after assuming office while Modi reciprocated a month later.
“Continuing the positive momentum and direction in our relationship! PM Narendra Modi had a warm meeting with PM of Nepal KP Sharma Oli (3rd this year) on the sidelines of BIMSTEC Summit in Kathmandu. Both leaders held a detailed review on all aspects of our bilateral relationship,” Spokesperson at the Indian Ministry of External Affairs Raveesh Kumar tweeted.
The two countries have also signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on engineering study for Raxaul-Kathmandu railway in presence of the respective PMs. The issue of traffic management will also be studied. The study will be conducted for operation of broad-gauge railway, according to the MOU.
