Speaker Krishna Bahadur Mahara has insisted on the need of developing the Bhume rural municipality, remaining as the site rich in natural and cultural heritages and for guerilla tourism into an international touristic destination.
Unveiling a book titled 'Bhume Darpan and documentary' amidst a program here Monday, the Speaker stressed that need of concerning our efforts on socio-economic transformations of people being based on the foundation of political change. According to him, promotion of tourism is the means of achieving economic progress in the Eastern Rukum and the government should increase the investment for the same.
In view of political importance, Lawang and Chunwang that lie in the Bhume rural municipality are historic sites. The government plans to develop a guerrilla trekking route by connecting areas in Rukum, Rolpa, Myagdi and Baglung along the mid-hilly highway.,
Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Rabindra Adhikari said that the Guerilla Hiking Trail has been incorporated in the five-year tourism promotion plans.
Minister Adhikari pledged that budget would be allocated for the further promotion of the republic museum at Bhume.
Bhume rural municipality Chairperson Ramsur Budha Magar and Vice-Chair Man Kumari Budha Bista said that the Bhume rural municipality that is rich in Magar culture would be promoted as a tourist spot.
