NC staging demonstrations across country

The main opposition Nepali Congress (NC) is staging street demonstrations across the country including in the capital on Tuesday. The party leaders are scheduled to address an assembly at Shanti Batika as per its preparations to stage demonstrations against the government's decision of declaring prohibited zones violating the constitutional rights of peaceful demonstrations. NC is also preparing to demonstrate in the district headquarters. The party's sister organizations including Nepal Tarun Dal, Nepal Students Union, Nepal Dalit Association, Nepal Women Association and Nepal Muslim Association , among others, will also take part in the demonstrations. General Secretary of NC Shashanka Koirala issuing a press release on July 17 had directed all the district coordination committee to stage protest programs on Tuesday.
