Approval of Deepak Raj Joshi for chief justice has been put on hold until Friday despite the parliamentary hearing ending on Thursday.
The special committee for parliamentary hearing started hearing on Joshi at 1:30 in the afternoon. But the practice of announcing decision immediately after completion of parliamentary hearing for chief justice has not been continued this time.
The recommended candidate is appointed as chief justice by the president only after approval following parliamentary hearing.
Joshi was recommended for the post of chief justice by the Constitutional Council on June 12.
