Minister for Foreign Affairs Pradeep Kumar Gyawali has said that the country has been on track in its aim to develop Nepal a middle-income country in the next 12 years.
"The country is advancing toward the path to development and prosperity ending the instability and transition.
The people have given a mandate for establishing stability and prosperity. The incumbent government is working towards that end," he said at an interaction organized on Tuesday in Lisbon jointly by the Pravasi Nepali Manch, Portugal, Nepali Janapragati Manch, Portugal and Non-Resident Nepali Association, Portugal. The Minister is on an official visit to Portugal at the invitation of his Portuguese counterpart Augusto Santos Silva.
The government is working to create environment conducive to attract foreign investment, he said, adding "Nepal will use various channels including neighboring countries, development partners, labor receiving countries and United Nations in this regard."
Saying that Nepal is enjoying hands-off approach from neighboring India and China, he said the ties with them are moving ahead through a new level.
On protesting Dr Govinda KC, he said the government was serious about his demands. The Medical Education Commission has been formed to end anomalies and ill practices in the medical sector.
