Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has warned that the government will not tolerate secessionists and traitors.
Addressing the assembly of Province 3 in Hetauda on Monday, he slammed the secessionist activities in the name of free Madhes. "Where was this country named Madhes? What do you mean by free Madhes? You are talking rubbish," he fumed.
A few in the audience during civic felicitation of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Barhabigaha in Janakpur had displayed banners on Free Madhes.
CPN Chairman Oli stressed that there is no need of violence in the country now as it is practicing democracy and is on track for development and prosperity.
He urged the CPN (Maoist) led by Netra Bikram Chand, without naming it, to renounce violence. "Do correct yourself if your wisdom has failed you. Renounce violence even if you have been incited by others," he stated and stressed that he will stop violence and secessionist activities at any cost.
Another Chairman of CPN Pushpa Kamal Dahal addressing a press conference in Pokhara earlier on the day claimed the government has ended the maneuverings in Province 2 to break Madhes by bringing Federal Socialist Forum Nepal (FSFN) in the government.
He revealed that FSFN has been drafted in the government to end the efforts to destabilize the federal government by creating distance between Province 2 and the rest of the country.
He also claimed that a communist government will be formed even in Province 2 with blessings of the federal government.
