Province 4 Chief Minister Prithvi Subba Gurung has said the province budget for the fiscal year would not be for earning popularity, it would be for promoting production and productivity, instead.
In his inaugural speech at an interaction program on renewable energy organized by the Physical Infrastructure Development (province) here Monday, Gurung stated that an increase in production and productivity and emphasis on the sustainable development would be targets of the budget.
According to him, promotion of tourism and energy sectors and modernization of agricultural are in the priority list of the province government.
Also speaking on the occasion, Minister for Physical Infrastructure Ram Sharan Basnet revealed the government's planning of fully illuminating the province by the next two years.
Alternative Energy Promotion Center's senior energy officer Prakash Aryal shared the idea about the technology to convert waste into energy with the participants. Application of such technology could have significant impact on economic and social sectors.
Nepal Biogas Promotion Association Province 4 chairperson Somnath Bastola highlighted multiple benefits of the use of biogas fuel, insisting on the need of using and promoting biogas fuel to protect the environment and save money.
Province ministers, Province Assembly members, representatives from bodies concerned, energy traders and media persons took part in the prgram.
