The central office of erstwhile CPN-UML at Dhumbarahi will serve as the central office of the unified Communist Party of Nepal (CPN).
CPN leader Krishna Gopal Shrestha said preparations are on to formally welcome Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal in the office Friday.
“General Secretary Bishnu Paudel will also come to the office today. We will change the name plate of Ihwor Pokharel/General Secretary to Bishnu Paudel/General Secretary,” Shrestha told Setopati. “We are also discussing about whether to write KP Sharma Oli/Pushpa Kamal Dahal in the same room or to allot separate rooms for the two.”
A single room can do for both Oli and Dahal as Prime Minister Oli rarely comes to the office, according to Shrestha. He revealed that there will be no problem in allotting rooms to the newly-appointed two senior leaders as rooms were already allotted for Madhav Kumar Nepal and Jhala Nath Khanal.
Member of the central secretariat of CPN Ishwore Pokharel confirmed the secretariat will work from Dhumbarahi for now. “We will now construct a new building for the big party. Structure should be prepared in accordance to the party’s needs,” he stated.
The central office of erstwhile CPN (Maoist Center) in Paris Danda, meanwhile, will house the offices of the sister organizations. “We will operate all the sister organizations from Paris Danda, and operate the party from Dhumbarahi,” Shrestha said.
