The party to be formed after the unification of CPN-UML and CPN (Maoist Center) will form a nine-member secretariat.
"The meeting of party unification coordination committee held at Prime Minister's official residence in Baluwatar took the decision to form a nine-member secretariat for the operation of new unified party," UML general secretary and Defense Minister Ishwor Pokharel said.
Pokharel said another meeting will be held to take decision on the central office of the unified party."We'll hold a meeting to finalize on the central office," he said.
The unified party will be called Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) and Marxism-Leninism will be the guiding principle of the unified party. Sun will be the election symbol of the party. "We will register the new party as Communist Party of Nepal," he said.
Meanwhile, Communist Party of Nepal (CPN), the name CPN-UML and CPN (Maoist Center) have chosen for the unified party, has already been registered at the Election Commission.
CPN led by Rishi Ram Kattel had participated in the November 26 and December 7 elections to the House of Representatives and Provincial Assemblies with the election symbol , hammer and spade.
According to the Election Commission, CPN was registered in 1992.
