The Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration has sought explanation about the shape of national flag kept during the program organized at the Janaki Temple premises in course of Indian Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi's visit on Friday. PM KP Sharma Oli and Modi had jointly inaugurated the Ramayan Circuit and flagged off Janakpur-Ayodhyay bus service from the platform where the flag was kept.
Spokesperson at the ministry Suresh Adhikari said Minister Lal Babu Pandit taking a minister-level decision on Monday has sought clarification as to how the shape of national flag was deformed and who were responsible for that.
Chief secretary of Province 2, secretary at the internal affairs ministry there, chief district officer (CDO) of Dhanusha and chief executive officer of Dhanusha Sub-metropolitan City have been asked to furnish explanation within three days.
The Nepali flag placed at the site was glaringly ill-shaped. It was not triangular, and was almost rectangular, and the border was also too thick.
"The national flag of Nepal consists of two juxtaposed triangular figures with a crimson-colored base and deep blue borders, there being a white emblem of the crescent moon with eight rays visible out of sixteen in the upper part and a white emblem of a twelve rayed sun in the lower part," the constitution states.
