Janakpur Sub Metropolitan City is preparing to felicitate Indian Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi in three different languages.
Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Janakpur Sub Metropolitan City Madan Ghimire told Setopati that felicitation letters have already been prepared in Nepali, English and Maithili languages. “Only the one in Nepali language will be read out during the program. The others will be handed out to him,” Ghimire said. “We are discussing whether to hand over felicitation letters even in other languages. But it has yet to be decided.”
He revealed that the federal government has already instructed to not draft felicitation letters in more than four languages.
Janakpur Sub Metropolitan City will offer civic felicitation to Modi at Barhabigaha at 9. Mayor Lal Kishore Sah will read out the felicitation letter in Nepali language during the program. Sah will also hand over the key to Janakpur to Modi.
Ghimire said the gift to be given by the sub-metropolis to Modi has yet to be decided.
Modi will pray at the Janaki Temple before the civic felicitation after landing in Janakpur on a helicopter from Patna, Bihar on May 11.
