National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) Chairman Anup Raj Sharma has said that the situation of human rights in Nepal was not satisfactory.
Incidents of human rights violation continue to increase while impunity is being encouraged in the country, he said.
Talking to RSS after returning from a monitoring of the situation of conflict survivors in Rolpa, Pyuthan and Dang in Nepalgunj today, Sharma said, "There are sufficient legislation in the country but have not been enforced.
Rule of law needs to be follow, only then every citizen in the country will be respected," he said.
Many recommendations based on investigation of the concerned incidents relating to human rights violation has not been enforced by the government, he said while expressing concern over the failure yet to provide justice to the conflict survivors.
"The government formed the two commissions only for the sake of it and for sympathy to the victims, they do not have complete authority and hence cannot deliver justice to the survivors," Sharma added.
