Prime Minister (PM) KP Sharma Oli and Indian counterpart Narendra Modi will jointly start construction of Arun III Hydropower Project through a remote control during the latter’s Nepal visit next week.

Jal Vidyut Nigam Limited (SJVNL) of India is contracted to develop the 900 MW project in Sankhuwasabha district. An Investment Board official confirmed with Setopati that the PM duo will officially start construction through a remote control on May 12. The official added that preparations have already been completed for the program.
Modi is arriving in Janakpur from Patna of Bihar on May 11 for a two-day visit.
