Indian Prime Minister (PM) Narendra Modi will land in Janakpur on a helicopter on May 11 for his two-day Nepal visit.
Home Minister Ram Bahadur Thapa, who went to Janakpur on Tuesday to supervise security arrangements for Modi’s visit, revealed that Modi will directly land in Janakpur without coming to Kathmandu.
Minister Thapa, while addressing a press conference after field inspection of the Janaki Temple where Modi will pray and Barha Bigaha where he will be given citizen felicitation, revealed that Modi will also visit Muktinath Temple during the two-day visit.
Modi will fly to Patna of Bihar on an airplane and then reach Janakpur on a chopper. PM KP Sharma Oli will also reach Janakpur to welcome Modi.
Thapa clarified there will be no political agreements during the visit of Modi this time.
There were talks that Modi will reach Janakpur by land even for his earlier visit to Nepal in 2014 but he arrived in Kathmandu by airplane in the eleventh hour.
