Demonstration at Maitighar to be banned from June 15

Staging demonstration and holding mass protest will be prohibited at Maitighar Mandala from June 15. District Administration Office, Kathmandu on Thursday has issued a notice to inform that such demonstration will be prohibited from June 15. As per the notice of DAO, Kathmandu, the meeting of the District Security Committee Kathmandu on April 15 had decided to prohibit organizing demonstration at Maitighar, allocating only seven places in Kathmandu from April 29 onward. However, the decision has been changed and it will come into force from June 15 in lack of necessary preparations. Meanwhile, Bibeksheel Sajha Party has demanded that holding mass meeting and any program of protest should not be banned in Maitighar Mandala, citing that it was against right to freedom guaranteed by the constitution.
