Of the 31 ministries of the government, only four were found to have fully implemented the Right to Information.
According to a report released by the National Information Commission on Wednesday, the Ministries of Population and Environment, Youth and Sports, Peace Ministry and Education Ministry have practiced RTI to the fullest.
Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport and Ministry of Women, Children and Social Welfare recorded the lowest level of RTI enforcement.
Making the report public, Acting Chief Justice Dipak Raj Joshi emphasized on the need to use RTI in order to maintain transparency and thereby end corruption in the country.
Minister of State for Information and Communications Technology Gokul Prasad Banskota said transparency is a feature of democracy and all should utilize RTI.
