CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said unification with CPN-UML will happen within a month.
Confirming with the reporters in Chitwan on Wednesday that unification will not happen on April 22 as scheduled in lack of preparation, Dahal, however, assured that unification will happen within a month. "We have been trying. We have all travelled across the country today. I will talk with UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli after returning to Kathmandu tomorrow," he said.
"We deem that discussion on the report prepared by the task force formed under home minister (Ram Bahadur Thapa) started only yesterday and unification may not be concluded on April 22." he stated.
He revealed that he will have serious discussion with Oli on Thursday about how to present the 'People's War' and the Janaandolan in the statute of the unified party, election symbol and the modality of unification. He said that unification will be on equal terms and in an honorable manner as far as possible.
He, however, dispelled fears that unification may not happen. "It is not that we have disputes. We are currently discussing how to address the People's War and Janaandolan in the statute, and the basis to form different committees of the party," he added.
