Foreign Minister Pradeep Gyawali has met Chinese counterpart Wang Yi on Wednesday. The Nepali Embassy in Beijing, however, has not revealed what the two ministers discussed.
The ministers jointly addressed the media after their meeting.
Gyawali also met Chinese Vice President Wang Qishan before meeting foreign minister Wang Yi.
Minister Gyawali is on China visit on invitation of Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi to prepare for the China visit of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli.
"I am going to Beijing with a message that Nepal is implementing federalism after completing all three levels of elections. Agreements signed with China two years ago including that on transit will also be reviewed," Gyawali had told the media before flying to Beijing on Monday.
He had confirmed that PM Oli will visit China this year but added that the date has yet to be decided. "There will be top political visits from both the countries this year. It will, however, take time to decide on the date."
