Karnali CM Shahi passes floor test

Chief Minister (CM) of Karnali province Mahendra Bahadur Shahi has passed floor test in the fifth meeting of provincial assembly on Tuesday. Thirty-two provincial assembly members of CPN-UML and CPN (Maoist Center) voted in favor after Shahi tabled the confidence motion for voting. Five Nepali Congress (NC) assembly members and one of RPP voted against. One NC lawmaker was absent. Parliamentary party leader of NC in the province Jeevan Bahadur Shahi after the voting said the party will play a role of constructive opposition. He added that the party will support or oppose the government on merit depending on the action. RPP lawmaker Sushila Shahi said the party will cooperate with everyone for prosperity despite differences on some articles of the constitution.
