Sit-in staged at Maitighar demanding Dhankuta as provincial capital

A Campaign Committee to make Dhankuta as the provincial capital, Kathmandu, has Friday staged a sit-in at Maitighar Mandala, demanding to declare Dhankuta as the capital of Province -1. Provincial Assembly members of Dhankuta, civil society leaders, and businessmen and people of Dhankuta currently living in Kathmandu staged the sit-in from 8:30 am to 10 am, saying Dhankuta is convenient and eligible from every angle required for having a status of provincial capital. In the previous days, they had staged the sit-in in front of the official residence of the Prime Minister at Baluwatar time and again. Similarly, Dhankuta locals have also been launching an agitation in the district, demanding Dhankuta be made as capital of Province -1.
