The Election Commission, Nepal (EC) spent Rs 5,622,147,299 on the recent federal and provincial assembly elections, it has revealed publishing its details on Sunday.
The government had allocated Rs 10 billion for elections and EC had allocated Rs 300 million out of that for capital expenditure. The spent amount is 57.96 percent of the balance amount.
The EC has published details of expenses incurred until January 5. The EC has clarified that it spent just Rs 760.67 million, 7.84 percent of the amount spent, from its head office in Kantipath.
The EC issuing a press statement has said it released Rs 4.86 billion to 77 districts for election. The EC still has Rs 4.07 billion remaining out of the 10 billion allocated by the government.
