CPN-UML Chairman KP Oli will go to Bangkok, Thailand on January 10 for a regular health checkup, according to his family sources.
Oli's press coordinator Chetan Adhikari confirmed that he is going to Bangkok for treatment but said the date has yet to be confirmed.
Oli had suffered from diarrhea and was taking rest in his residence in Balkot for the past few days. He has not been seen in any public program since Sunday. He is said to be recovering well and has started political meetings from Thursday.
Oli, who has had kidney transplant a few years back, goes to Bangkok for regular health checkups. He had last gone to Bangkok in August 2017.
His health condition has been delaying the decisive round of discussion with CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal for party unification. The two leaders were set to meet on Tuesday but the meeting could not take place after Oli became ill.
Dahal has since gone to Chitwan on Thursday and will return only on Saturday.
