Doti denizens have staged demonstrations after the government proposed Dhangadhi as the temporary capital of Province No. 7.
They took to the streets, demanding the announcement of Dipayal as its provincial capital keeping the geographical distance and physical infrastructures in mind.
The meeting of Dipayal Struggle Committee held at Wednesday 7 am has called an indefinite strike in the district. With this, the normal life of people in the district has been affected. Government offices, markets and non-government institutions and academic institutions have been closed.
The Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers (OPMCM) and the Ministry of Urban Development on Tuesday prepared the outline of the temporary capitals of all the seven provinces in the country.
Meanwhile, emergency vehicles are not barred from plying. The Struggle Committee has further informed that it will not call off the indefinite strike until its demands are addressed.
