CPN (Maoist Center) Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that parties and leaders must be courteous toward the people's mandate given through the election.
Addressing a program in Baneswhore
on Thursday he said, "The people have bestowed a huge responsibility on our shoulders. Our responsibility is to maintain stability in the country and to fulfill the dream of development. We must become more responsible and courteous after this mandate. We must move forward by respecting the people's mandate."
He claimed that the people have endorsed the left alliance. Stating that the election has given solution to many challenges, he added that a few new challenges, however, have arisen. "There seem to be differences in interpretation of Constitution and laws. This will also be resolved through the people's mandate. Anything except national unity and territorial integrity can be reformed on the basis of people's mandate," he opined.
He claimed that he led the largest movement in Nepal since the time of Prithvi Narayan Shah. "Very few individual receive so many opportunities. I have received such opportunity. I am indebted to Nepal and Nepali people," he added.
"The movement led by me gave republicanism, federalism and new Constitution. The peace agreement was reached under my leadership. The people gave me the opportunity to lead both the war and peace.
"I have played a leading role in promulgation and implementation of the Constitution. The leadership for stability, development and prosperity of Nepal now has also fallen on my shoulders. I will also fulfill that responsibility."
