Leader of the chairman council of Rastriya Janata Party Nepal (RJP) Rajendra Mahato has said the Madhes-based alliance will form the government in Province 2 and RJP will unify with Federal Socialist Forum Nepal (FSFN) after some time.
Talking with Setopati on Tuesday, he said alliance with FSFN will continue as the Madhesi people have instructed both the parties to move forward together. "The alliance was forged as per the wish of Madhesi people. The people have already endorsed that. The alliance will now form government. The parties will unify with time," he added.
He stated that the party has taken the election as a movement and the result was on expected lines. "The result has gone in our favor at the places where more people had participated in the Madhes Movement. We lost at the places where the movement was weak but we are satisfied," he pointed.
He said that the party has not discussed about whether to join the government of left alliance. "They already have the necessary numbers. I don't feel they need us," he stated. "We will first raise the issue of constitution amendment if they invite us to join the government. What will happen will depend on how they will take that."
FSFN has won 20 seats and RJP 15 out of the 64 provincial seats in Province 2. RJP is second behind Nepali Congress (NC) in proportional representation (PR) in the province and FSFN third.
RJP has won 11 seats and FSFN 10 for the House of Representatives.
