Vote counting in the House of Representatives and State Assemblies elections has reached its almost final stage, said the Election Commission.
According to EC's latest update, 164 parliamentary and 329 provincial representatives have been elected so far in the polls held for the total 165 parliamentary and 330 provincial members.
Of the total elected representatives, CPN-UML bagged 80 parliamentary seats followed by the CPN (Maoist Center) with 36 seats, and the Nepali Congress with 22 seats. Likewise, the Rastriya Janata Party Nepal (RJP-N) is placed in the third position with 11 seats, while Federal Socialist Forum Nepal (FSF-N) is in the fourth position with 10 seats.
Naya Shakti Party won one seat, and Nepal Workers Peasants Party, Rastriya Janamorcha and Rastriya Prajatantra Party one each.
Vote counting under proportional representation system is underway.
According to EC's latest update, the UML is in the first position with 1,779,628 votes followed by the NC with 1,695,986 votes. Likewise, the Maoist Center is placed in the third position with 702,560 votes. The FSF-N has secured 215,957 votes, while the RJP-N 152,602 votes.
