Nepali Congress (NC) leader Bijay Kumar Gachchhadar has cut the deficit to Bhagawati Chaudhari in Sunsari-3 to just 62 votes.
CPN-UML's Chaudhary, the left alliance candidate, has received 32,555 votes, according to the Election Commission. Gachchhadar follows close behind at 32,493.
Vote counting was stalled from Monday morning after Chaudhary accused Gachhhadar of trying to rig counting. Counting in the provincial constituency of Sunsari-3 (B) was also consequently stalled.
She was leading by 155 when voting was stopped. It had increased when the last update was made after resumption of counting on Tuesday but the deficit has fallen to just 62 now. There are still around 12,000 votes to be counted.
